There are three types of allotments in Croydon.

1. Leasehold sites. (10 sites managed by 9 societies. All on statutory allotment land)

These are council owned but managed by an on site Society who have responsibility for letting, managing waiting lists and maintenance.

2. Direct let sites (six sites managed by the Council. All believed to be on Statutory allotment land).

These are wholly run and managed by the Council

3. Owned sites (2 sites)South Norwood Allotment Holders Association and Addiscombe, Woodside, and Shirley Leisure Gardens .

The land is owned by the Society who define their own terms and conditions and have sole responsibility for the running, maintenance and upkeep of the land as allotments.
