The Site

This small site has been used for allotments since 1918 and is run by a Society registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act. It serves the SE25 and surrounding postcode area. There are 39 plots all 5 rods or less with two divided in half to make four smaller plots. There is a small waiting list with the site being actively managed to enable new people to come onto a plot where a plot is not being well utilised. The area is a small oasis of peace and quiet in London where people come to grow their own food. The site has a blog at http://southnorwoodallotment123.blogspot.co.uk/

People

The site is a friendly one with a mix of young and old, single, couples and families. Some people come to garden in isolation and some come to mix and to socialise with other like-minded people. Everyone shares a common purpose in their love of gardening and meeting the challenges of growing their own food.
