Is Kira Anderson ditching the music industry? The 25-year-old singer said on New Year’s Eve, tweeting, “My beloved fans, I’m officially retiring!” this isn’t the first time she has brought this up, the first time she mentioned her retirement was with an interview for ‘Top of The Pops’ magazine a couple of days later, however this was not released until after her tweet.
Kira only came on to the music scene when she had just turned 19, she got signed by Harry Barlow after posting several videos of herself singing, the videos went viral and soon caught Harry’s eyes. Having not been in the music biz for long, Kira has had a good shot at it, racking up an extraordinary 7 number one singles in just six years.
Kira has told us and her fans over Twitter that the reason for her retirement is because she feels she is “too young for fame”. She also revealed that she has met someone, who she wants to “settle down with, without the media spying on her every minute of every day.”
However some of her fans aren’t very happy to hear that she might not be on the music scene for much longer. She told ‘Top of The Pops’ magazine that her “fans are what made her”, as she started out as a vlogger, posting videos of herself singing. But some of her fans are happy that she has chosen to retire from the music industry, and to hear she has found someone and settled down with him.
This retirement may not be the end of Kira Anderson’s music career. We may see her return in years to come, as reunions and comeback tours are becoming increasingly popular. They are so popular that even TV programs are being shown with bands reuniting for one last time. You never know, Kira may return for just a comeback tour or maybe comeback for good when she is older and feels that she is old enough to handle fame! It’s something to keep you fans interested and hoping she does return!
